In response to the CORVID-19 virus and the necessity for social-distancing at this time I am offering secure online video counselling to clients. Since privacy is important, I will use a fully encrypted platform to maintain confidentiality. I have transitioned to using Doxy as my virtual counselling platform with the intention to provide a quality, ethical, and fully confidential counselling service.
Video counselling advantages:
* increased availability of session times, making counselling more accessible
* convenience, as there is no need to drive to an office or to take time off, thus making it more affordable
* easier to fit counselling into a busy schedule, whether you are continuing to work or are at home
* research shows that therapy from a distance can be just as effective as in-person therapy
How does it work?
Setting up your video counselling session is much like setting up an in-person session. After speaking with you via email or by phone, I will email a Consent Form and an Intake Form for your review and completion. You will then email them back prior to the first session. You will be given a web link to me and, using a standard computer, your session will start. Requirements for this service include an active internet connection and a computer, smartphone, or tablet with a video camera, mic, and speakers/headphones. However, there are no requirements to download any special hardware or software.
Please see the Fees and Coverage link above. Payment must be made prior to the start of the appointment via e-transfer.
Though I ask that you do your best to cancel appointments with 24 hours notice when possible, I will waive the charge for canceled sessions for as long as I keep this notice posted to my website.
